Parish councils

Parish councils have powers to undertake a wide range of functions that impact on the local community. Work varies between councils, but typically they cover areas like public halls, allotments and playing fields.

Parish councils also provide a voice for local residents, enabling communities to comment on local issues, for example planning applications.

Code of conduct for parish councillors

Parish Councils have adopted their own Codes of Conduct for their Councillors. Please contact the relevant Parish or Town Clerk to obtain a copy.
